Hillary Kinney, DMD

 Dr. Hillary Kinney, DMD, is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who grew up skiing in Vermont, just miles away from the base of Killington ski area. She attended the University of New Hampshire where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology.   

In 2018, she graduated with her doctorate in dental medicine from the University of New England School of Dental Medicine. As a dental student, Dr. Kinney was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society, which is a national dental society founded to recognize scholarship and character in the dental profession. She was also selected by her professors to receive the American College of Dentists Outstanding Student Leader award for her demonstrated leadership and outstanding scholastic performance during her dental school career.   

After graduating from dental school, Dr. Kinney completed an oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at the University of Pennsylvania prior to matriculating into residency at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. During her residency, Dr. Kinney was actively involved in research, and due to her participation in multiple research projects, and co-authorship of publications and presentations she was recognized for her efforts by being awarded Tufts Award for Outstanding Contributions to Dental Research by a Post-Doctoral Student. In her final year of residency, Dr. Kinney was also awarded the Kenneth M. Stern Award for academic excellence and clinical aptitude as a postdoctoral oral and maxillofacial surgery resident.  

Dr. Kinney practices full-scope oral surgery with advanced training in sedation and anesthesia, dental implants, hard and soft tissue grafting, and extractions. Her clinical interests in oral surgery include benign pathology, full arch reconstruction, and complex bone grafting.  

When Dr. Kinney isn’t practicing oral surgery, she is on hikes with her husband Preston, and dog Esther. She is an avid snow skier and was a competitive ski racer growing up. Dr. Kinney also likes to put her chef hat on and you will see her cooking up her favorite pizza.
